What Makes A Great Taco?
Who said tacos were only meant for Tuesdays? I personally, could eat tacos every day of the week! However, for this statement to be true, the dish in question has to be perfect. Nobody wants to eat a bland and boring taco every day for the rest of their life. What if I told you that I know the perfect place that makes great tacos even better! Rev Mex has just what it takes to satisfy my cravings and knows how to leave me begging for more. From our Fancy Queso to our delicious Birria Tacos, I can assure you that we have something that you will love. That being said, we don’t want Rev Mex to be “just another good Mexican restaurant.” We want you to come enjoy great tacos while leaving with a memory of a good time with friends and family.
The Taco Bed
Let's start off with the bed of the taco. What goes inside the taco is only half of the dish, so that cannot be the only important thing. The other half is the tortilla of course! Every great taco starts somewhere and for us, it is the tortilla. All our tacos are served on local 6” corn tortillas with the exception of the fish/shrimp taco served on flour. Our corn tortillas are made by combining masa, hot water, and salt together then creating little balls of dough that are then pressed down and cooked to perfection. Our tortillas are so good, we could eat them by themselves! They are so soft and extremely flavorful. Now it’s time to take the perfect bed and pile on all the extra yummy goodness that goes inside.
Protein and Toppings
Now for what we consider the most important part of the taco, the protein. To enjoy a taco, the protein cannot be dry and flavorless, but instead it needs to be juicy and seasoned to the gods! At Rev Mex we offer multiple different style tacos. Our meats include grilled or fried shrimp, ground beef, braised beef, chipotle-braised chicken, marinated fish, carne asada, or al pastor. All our proteins are cooked or grilled to perfection, creating mouthwatering flavors with every bite. Depending on which taco you decide to try it will be topped with a variety of different items. Adding flavor to our beef and pork we add a combo of either cilantro, minced onion, shredded cheese, or pico de gallo. Our fish tacos are topped with shredded red cabbage and radish. These chopped veggies and garden-fresh herbs add the perfect crunch to any taco.
Did you say that you are vegan? Don’t worry we have something for you too! Our Beyond Meat includes seasoned plant-based protein topped with pico de gallo and queso fresco. Our Crispy Cauliflower is fried cauliflower with red cabbage tossed in vinegar, avocado aioli, radish, and cilantro.
Salsas and More
Although our tacos are the best in the business, that is not all we have to offer. If you are not in the mood for a taco, luckily for you we have salads, fajitas, burritos, wings, quesadillas, and nachos as well. We pour as much love and care into these items just as much as we do for our tacos.
It doesn’t stop there. Do you like a little spice in your life? Or in this case on top of your taco? We have three different salsas for you to try. Starting off with House Roja, made with tomato, tomatillo, onion, jalapeno, garlic, and cilantro. Getting a little hotter, Salsa verde, made with tomatillo, poblano, jalapeno, serrano, garlic, and cilantro. And last but certainly not least, the spice is real with Habanero, made with tomato, tomatillo, habanero, serrano, and garlic.
If you prefer a less spicy option to top off your taco or to just dip some chips in. We also have Fancy Queso, which is a tex-mex style with pico de gallo and cilantro or Guacamole, made with avocado, pico de gallo, cilantro and lime. See our menu for all items.

Rev Mex is your one stop Mexican restaurant for all things good. Come out and enjoy an authentic taco and a house margarita with your best friends any day of the week! On Saturday and Sundays, we have brunch available from 11 A.M. - 3 P.M. and on Tuesdays we have $4 tacos from open to close. We hope to see you at our downtown OKC location soon!
